A bit about the work

In these cyanotypes artist Ellen Mote layers abstractions of the female form, in a sheer manner nodding to her own feelings of invisibility as a woman and a mother. Ellen challenges our pursuit of perfection and the impossibility of the expectation with symmetrical, but imperfect, lines and shapes.

Why are these only being sold framed?

Art works on paper must be framed to be displayed. For this reason, I wanted you, the collector, to be able to display the work immediately, without the delay of waiting for the framing. Framing also elevates art and makes it look complete.

I chose a high quality frame for this piece to add warmth and balance to the piece.
